This page explains, in plain language, what Dan’s Career Corner collects, why, who else handles it, and how long it’s kept. Dan’s Career Corner is my independent professional practice, so “I” here means me, Dan Lopez.
If anything is unclear, email me at dan@danscareercorner.com.
The short version
- I collect only what I need to answer you, send Career Intel, or deliver what you paid for.
- I never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- Resume Fix uploads are deleted from the site automatically after the work is done. I keep a private copy of your resume, any photos, and the finished work unless you ask me to delete it.
- The site’s analytics don’t use cookies and don’t identify you.
Career Intel with Dan
When you subscribe, your email address goes to Kit, the service that sends the newsletter. Kit emails you a confirmation link first, and you’re only added once you click it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.
Like most email services, Kit can tell me whether an issue was opened or a link was clicked. I use that only to see what’s useful to readers. I don’t share the list with anyone.
Contact and speaking inquiry forms
The contact form asks for your name, email, and message. The speaking and training form also asks about your organization, your role, and the session you have in mind.
What you send arrives in my inbox through Resend, an email delivery service, and a backup copy is saved in Supabase, a database service, so nothing gets lost if an email fails. I use it only to reply and follow up with you. Sending a form doesn’t sign you up for anything. I keep these messages for my records, and I’ll delete yours if you ask.
Resume Fix and Resume Fix Plus
Payment. Checkout is handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch this site. I see your name, your email, and what you bought.
Intake. After checkout, the intake form asks for your name and email, your resume, and a few answers about the role you’re aiming for. Depending on your add-ons, it may also ask for a job posting link, the company and role for a cover letter, your LinkedIn profile link, or photos of you for an AI-enhanced headshot, along with your permission to edit them.
Storage. Your files go to private storage in Supabase. They’re never public. I open them through links that expire after 7 days.
Use. I use your resume and answers only to do the work you paid for. I use AI tools for some parts of that work, such as checking keywords and editing headshot photos, so those parts of your materials are processed by the AI services I use. I never use your materials or the finished work for my own marketing.
How long I keep it. The files and answers you send through the intake form are deleted from the site’s storage automatically 30 days after I deliver your final draft, and no later than 120 days after you send them. If you start an upload and don’t finish the form, those files are deleted after 2 days.
I keep a copy of your resume, any headshot photos, and the finished work in a private, secure folder, so I can help if you come back for updates, a new headshot, or a copy. Email me anytime and I’ll delete it.
Toolkits
Toolkits are sold and delivered through Payhip, which handles payment and the download. Your card details go to Payhip, never to this site. Payhip shares your name, your email, and what you bought with me, so I can help if anything goes wrong with your files.
Booking a call or session
Calls and sessions are booked through Cal.com, which collects your name, email, and anything you add to the booking. The calendar invite comes through Google Calendar, and sessions run on Google Meet. If a session is paid, payment goes through Stripe.
Free tools
When you use the Recruiter View Simulator, the text you paste is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI models, to create your scan. The simulator itself doesn’t store what you paste or your results. Please don’t paste information you wouldn’t want processed this way.
Each tool says on its own page what happens to anything you enter.
Analytics and cookies
I use Plausible to count visits and a few actions, such as subscribing or starting a booking. Plausible doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal information, and doesn’t follow you to other sites. It tells me how many people visit and which pages help, nothing about who you are.
This site doesn’t use tracking or advertising cookies. Services I send you to, such as Stripe, Cal.com, and Kit, have their own cookies and privacy policies on their own sites.
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure.

I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t share it for advertising.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from Career Intel anytime with the link in any issue.
- Email me to ask what I have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Payment records stay with Stripe as tax and accounting rules require.

Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. The terms cover the rest of how the site and services work.
